And to really drive this point home, many of us are required to read William Golding’s Lord of the Flies in order to pass high school English class. We can recite hallowed psychological studies like the Stanford Prison Experiment and the Milgram Obedience Experiments that “prove” we’re all just a uniform fitting away from becoming guards at Auschwitz.
